Holland: Crazy, right?
Crazy, right? That 749 years ago this great lady, Holland, was the queen of Europe.
Crazy, right? That you have to be a little crazy not only to entertain the idea of building a city underwater, but to actually pull it off.
Crazy, right? That in every corner and around every turn, so many curiosities are discovered—some that surprise, others that bewilder.
Crazy, right? That here we are, among canals, with leaning buildings and hidden churches.
Crazy, right? That you are so sensitive and soft. How beautiful it is to feel the presence of a community, but also to hear the debates of the moment, in the pure fire of a hare, sparking tongues and transforming identities.
Crazy, right? That now I can discover this “low country” from the highest window—that of friendship. Through their eyes, and with experiences perfectly tailored for me, I’ve been able to learn a new word at every turn. First it was fantastis and top, then dankjewel, and now, savoring dinners by candlelight, my spirit feels the Burgundian Bliss.
Crazy, right? That in this majestic city, and in this “low country” called “Holland,” I found them, I found myself, and we keep finding one another.
It’s always about continuing on our path, planting seeds of love that transform us.
